Small, thoughtful steps toward meaningful change.
Board Certified Psychiatrist
At Stilla Psychiatry, Dr. Paliy provides personalized, compassionate, and collaborative psychiatric care grounded in calm, clarity, and steady presence. The name Stilla—a Latin word meaning “a drop”—reflects the belief that meaningful change in mental health often develops through small, thoughtful, and consistent steps over time. Each visit, conversation, and treatment decision is approached as an intentional part of a larger healing process.
Dr. Paliy strives to create a supportive and unhurried space where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Her treatment approach emphasizes careful diagnostic evaluation, thoughtful medication management, and individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s goals and values.
Dr. Paliy is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive clinical, academic, and leadership experience in the treatment of a wide range of psychiatric conditions. She completed her psychiatry residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she also served as Chief Resident, reflecting her commitment to clinical excellence, education, and leadership.
Dr. Paliy brings a uniquely broad medical background to psychiatry. She earned her medical degree in 2001 and completed both residency and fellowship training in oncology in Russia, followed by a PhD focused on clinical research. This rigorous scientific foundation informs her thoughtful, evidence-based approach to psychiatric care and psychopharmacology.
Since 2019, Dr. Paliy has practiced psychiatry in North Carolina, including serving as a Behavioral Health Medical Director. She has also worked extensively in inpatient and emergency psychiatric settings through locum tenens roles across the state. Her experience spans acute crisis care, substance use disorders, and complex psychiatric presentations.
